In recent times, actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar has shed loads of flesh around her hips and waist and had acquired a stunning hourglass figure which she gamely flaunts in a variety of costumes on and off-screen.
The actress, daughter of ‘supreme hero’ and actor-politician Sarathkumar, turned 33 a couple of weeks back but looks younger for her age. Her vivacity, enthusiasm and her ability to dub appropriately for her on-screen roles have landed up many film offers in her kitty after she delivered notable performances in last year’s successful films such as Vikram Vedha, Nibunan and Sathya.
A microbiology graduate who holds an MBA from the University of Edinburgh, Varalaxmi debuted in films with Poda Podi opposite Simbu in 2012. She later did Bala’s Tharai Thappattai and revealed her dancing and acting instincts. The actress is now part of many films including Maari 2, Kanni Raasi, Pamban, Neeya 2, Echcharikkai: Idhu Manidhargal Nadamaadum Idam, Mr. Chandramouli, Sandakozhi 2 and Vijay’s upcoming untitled venture.
She plays the protagonist in Velvet Nagaram to be directed by rookie Manoj; the film’s script is a psychological action-packed thriller which revolves around its heroine. Insiders say that the film’s script has been conceived based on a real life incident which took place in Kodaikkanal a few years back. Varalaxmi plays a journalist in the film, it is believed.
