Actress Gautami has denied rumorus which appeared in the media that her daughter Subbulakshmi would be debuting as heroine in director-producer Bala’s next film.
Gautami’s teenage daughter Subbalakshmi has been accompanying her famed mother, who had starred opposite the likes of Kamal Haasan (with whom she was a live-in partner for 13 years), superstar Rajinikanth, Vijayakanth, Prabhu, Sathyaraj and others in the eighties and nineties, to functions of late, giving rise to speculation that she was being groomed for a career in films.
Reports which appeared in certain sections of the media said a few days back that Subbulakshmi has been signed up to play the heroine opposite debutant Dhruv, son of actor ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram, in a new film to be directed by Bala. The film would be the Tamil remake of last year’s hugely popular Telugu hit film Arjun Reddy, it was further reported.
Gautami has, however, denied that her daughter is debuting as heroine with Bala’s new film. “I don’t know where from such rumours emanate; Subbulakshmi is concentrating in her studies now and I don’t intend to bring her into films for the time being!” she has categorically said.
