Actor Arya is said to have bagged the Kerala distribution and release rights of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming Shankar-directed 2.0 which is to release in April.
Produced at a whopping cost of Rs.400 crores by Lyka Productions, 2.0 has been in the making now for more than two years as its shoot commenced late in 2015. Rajini’s Kabali, which was launched after this film, released in theatres in 2016 and became a super-duper hit. Rajini’s fans are now impatiently awaiting the theatrical release of 2.0 which is to release on Tamil New Year day (14th April).
Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar plays the antagonist in the film which has Amy Jackson, Sudahshu Pandey, Adul Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn and Riyaz Khan essaying prominent roles. Rahman’s music and Nirav Shah’s cinematography are the film’s added assets.
It now turns out that actor Arya’s ‘August Cinemas’, which has cinematographer-director Santhosh Sivan and producer Shaji Natesan as co-partners, has acquired the Kerala release and distribution rights of 2.0 for a whopping cost of Rs.16 crores!
