Actress Jyothika and music director-turned-hero G.V. Prakash Kumar have give an very good account of themselves in producer-director Bala’s upcoming film Naachiyaar whose trailer was released yesterday on ‘Pongal’.
Besides penning the story, screenplay, dialogues and directing the film, Bala has also produced it under his banner ‘B’ Studios. Jyothika, G.V. Prakash Kumar and producer ‘Rockline’ Venkatesh play important roles in the film which has the Guinness record-breaking ‘Maestro’ Ilaiyaraaja as its music director. Eashwar is the film’s cinematographer while Sathish Suriya is the editor.
Jyothika plays the protagonist and a cop (probably for the first time in her more than 2-decade long career) in the film. The film’s teaser, which released some weeks back, ran into a huge controversy with Jyothika uttering a clear expletive in Tamil; her lip movement made no bones as to what word she was uttering.
The 90-second trailer has sequences typical of Bala’s films and is compelling enough for Jyothika’s ardent fans in particular and movie-goers in general to await the film’s theatrical release which would be on 09th February. A grand audio-launch would precede the film’s release in theatres, it has been announced.
