National award-winning actor Atul Kulkarni, who made his debut in Tamil films through the critically acclaimed ‘Hey Ram,’ has said that there’s no better teacher than Kamal Haasan to learn cinema.
“Whenever I’m in Chennai, I feel extremely nostalgic because I started my film career in this city with Kamal Haasan’s ‘Hey Ram.’ I was from theatre, and Kamal Haasan was the one who taught me cinema. One can’t get a better teacher as far as cinema is concerned,” Atul told reporters here at the press meet of actor Siddharth’s trilingual horror thriller ‘Aval.’
Atul is teaming up with Siddharth twelve years after the iconic film ‘Rang De Basanti’ directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
“I always felt that a good movie is made by good friends and a good team. That’s what I feel about ‘Aval.’ In Mumbai, we always look up to the south cinema for its technical brilliance, writing, and music. And, I’m sure ‘Aval’ is going to set a benchmark in Indian horror films,” Atul said.
