Actor-producer and president of the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) Vishal has asked theatres and multiplexes across the State not to collect parking fee for two and four-wheelers from today and only to collect ticket fare as stipulated by the Govt.
“From today (Saturday) onwards, no theatre or multiplex in Chennai and elsewhere in the State would collect online reservation charge or parking fee in theatres from two and four-wheelers. Theatres should charge ticket fares only on the basis of directions passed and as determined by the State Govt. in this regard.
“Cost of eatables in theatres should be regulated and ‘Amma’ drinking water bottles should be sold invariably in all theatres. People should also be allowed to bring drinking water from their respective homes into theatres.
“Vehicle parking fee and online reservation fee is cancelled forthwith and theatres not following this would have to face strict action,” a communiqué issued by the Council said yesterday.
