Actor Kamal Haasan, director-producer Shankar and Tollywood producer Dil Raju have announced the launch of Indian 2, the sequel to Kamal-Shankar combination’s only film Indian which released 21 years back.
Kamal reserved the big occasion to announce the launch of the film. Kamal has been hosting the reality television show ‘Bigg Boss’ (following the same format of the Hindi and English versions of the show) on a popular regional television channel for the past four months now, though he appears only on weekends. The grand-finale, which was slated for yesterday, declared upcoming model Aarav as the winner of the first season.
In his trademark style, Kamal casually invited Shankar to join him on stage and let the latter make a formal announcement about the sequel to Indian. Before Shankar made the announcement, Dil Raju joined the duo on stage.
A film against corruption in society even in its minutest form, Indian was a runaway hit and it featured Kamal Haasan in triple roles. Kamal’s character in the film did the ‘unthinkable’– a father killing his own son – to drive home the point that corruption can never be tolerated. Other actors, technicians and crew to work in the sequel would be finalized and announced soon.
