Raju Murugan, the director who has made thought-provoking films such as Cuckoo and Joker and who won the national award for ‘best film’ for Joker, is penning the story and dialogues of an upcoming untitled film which has a chef turning hero!
Raju Murugan pens the story and dialogues while his friend Saravanan Rajendran turns director with the as-yet-untitled film by penning the screenplay and directing it. Prior to making his debut, Rajendran had worked under the likes of Kamal Haasan, Raju Murugan and the late and legendary cinematographer-director Balu Mahendra.
“It’s an intense film but with a simple screenplay. It is produced by Giant Films. We approached many heroes but didn’t find anyone appropriate for the role. In the meantime, I and Saravanan went to a friend’s marriage in Coimbatore. By chance, we got introduced to the chef Rangaraj who had cooked for the wedding.
“When we spoke to him casually, we found him out suitable to play the protagonist in our untitled film. He hesitated initially but agreed to star in the film after some persuasion,” Murugan informs and adds that the shoot of the film would commence very soon.
