It is reported that actor-producer-director Sundar C might cast Bollywood actress Disha Patani in the title role in his dream Tamil-Telugu project Sangamithra. It is also said that with Disha in the cast, the film might become a trilingual i.e. Tamil-Telugu-Hindi as and when it is wrapped up and released.
25-year old Disha, who debuted as heroine in Telugu films with Loafer when she was just 20, has since starred in a few Hindi films including a Chinese-English-Hindi international film with Hollywood’s Jackie Chan which released early this year. The actress is having a solitary Hindi film Baaghi 2 on her hands and is said to have replaced Shruti Haasan as Sudar C’s Sangamithra.
Sundar C has said that he would soon make an official announcement confirming Disha as his leading lady in the period film Sangamithra which already has ‘Jayam’ Ravi and Arya on board as the twin heroes. To be produced at a huge cost of more than Rs.100 crores, it originally had Shruti Haasan in the lead. She trained in sword-fighting in London, promoted the film at Cannes before opting out due to delay in the ‘commencement’ of the film’s shoot.
“I would be completing Kalakalappu 2 as pre-production work of Sangamithra is likely to take at least 3 months,” says Sundar C. A.R. Rahman teams up with Sundar C for the first time by scoring the film’s music. The twin-Oscar award-winning musician said that he was happy to be a part of the ambitious project and added that besides his film-making skills, Sundar had a good ‘vision’ for music.
