Amid his busy schedule, producer-director Shankar does devote some time to watch other filmmakers’ films as well. Shankar recently watched his contemporary film-maker Myskkin’s recently-released film Thupparivaalan and has lauded the effort of Mysskin, Vishal and the film’s crew in making a ‘unique’ film.
Shankar is busy with the post-production work involving his upcoming directorial venture 2.0 which stars superstar Rajinikanth, Bollywood’s Akshay Kumar and Sudanshu Pandey and Shankar’s favaourite heroine Amy Jackson in lead roles. The film’s shoot was wrapped up a few months back and the post-production work has been going on at a hectic pace.
The film is to release in theatres worldwide next January not during Pongal holidays but on 25th January, a day prior to the country’s Republic Day celebrations. Shankar has also commenced the shoot of his upcoming production venture Imsai Arasan 24-m Pulikesi, a sequel to the super-duper hit film he made more than a decade back. He allotted time to himself to watch Mysskin’s Thupparivaalan recently.
“Thupparivaalan, made in Mysskin’s unique style of film-making, has impressed me. The characterization of the protagonist essayed by Vishal and the actor’s acting is simply out of the world. It’s an engaging thriller and my cheers to the whole team!” Shankar tweeted thus.
