Even as box-office reports say that Ajith Kumar’s latest film Vivegam (which is in its fourth week in theatres now) has grossed more than Rs.170 crores in theatres across the globe, the film has silently created yet another record – this time a world record!
Notwithstanding the many negative criticisms in the print and television media soon after the film’s release, the manner in which Ajith’s fans have responded to the film makes it amply clear as to who is the biggest star in Kollywood after superstar Rajinikanth. The film’s teaser has broken the record of the teaser of the Hollywood super-duper hit film Star Wars.
Ajith’s fans have already started celebrating the occasion in a befitting manner by creating several hash-tags. Vivegam reuired 17,000 ‘likes’ from netizens a few days back to create a new world record. The film got them on Thursday night thus becoming the first-ever Indian film to record more ‘likes’ than a Hollywood film.
Vivegam thus beat Star Wars (which had held the record till now) and recorded more ‘likes’ than the latter did. The additional likes have been ‘provided’ by Ajith’s ardent in just three days’ time. Vivegam now holds the world record with 573,000 likes, beating the record of 572,000 likes held by Star Wars!
