Actress Sona Heiden, the ‘sexy babe’ of Kollywood and who was omnipresent in many films till a few years back, returns to films after a self-imposed hiatus of a few years.
Sona, who won the ‘Miss South India’ beauty pageant 15 years back when she was 23 years of age, leveled sexual harassment allegations of a serious order against playback singer-actor S.P.B. Charan (son of legendary playback singer S.P. Balasubrahmanyam) a few years back. It was even rumoured that SPB met her in person and requested not to ‘exaggerate’ the issue which was later buried into oblivion.
Missing in Tamil films for the past few years, Sona has managed shed 7 kgs and is making a comeback now. The actress, known for her ‘item dance’ numbers and oomph in films such as Pathukku Pathu, Guru Enn Aalu, Kuselan and Ko, also turned producer and made the Jai-starrer Kanomizhi which bombed at the box-office.
Popular for her description of men as someone who should be used only as a ‘disposable tissue paper’, Sona is now making a comeback to films by essaying a prominent role in the upcoming Malayalam film which is billed as a crime-thriller. Sona plays an investigating cop in the film and had reportedly undergone rigorous training to star in the stunt sequences in the film.
