Vijay Sethupathi, the actor who has been a frontline hero for the past few years, is all set for the release of his much-delayed Puriyatha Puthir which hits the screens across the State tomorrow.
Starring Vijay Sethupathi and an out-of-sorts Gayathrie (who had earlier paired up opposite him in Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom and Rummy) in the lead, the film had been in the making for a long time and faced many delays in its release to finally release tomorrow.
Ranjit Jayakodi has directed the film which is produced by Deepan Boopathy and Ratesh Velu. As Vijay Sethupathi has earned a good name among distributors and theatre-owners during the past few years, Puriyatha Puthir has got a good number of theatres and cinema halls for its release despite Gayathrie remaining a literally unknown entity.
Fresh with the super-success of his latest film Vikram Vedha (which is still running to packed houses in many theatres) in which he played an antagonist, Puriyatha Puthir also marks Vijay Sethupathi’s return to playing lead roles. In Chennai alone, the film is releasing in more than 20 halls and in more than 300 halls across the State.
