Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is said to have agreed to compose music for an upcoming film titled as Kalathur Gramam after he was apparently impressed by the film’s script.
Charan K. Advaitan is the debutant director of the film who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. A. Ramamurthy of ‘A.R. Movie Paradise’ has produced the film which has Kishore essaying the lead role as the script’s hero. Sandalwood’s Yagna Shetty plays the lead role opposite Kishore. Suleel Kumar, Ajay Ratnam, Dheeraj and Gini Mahadevayya play prominent roles in the film.
“It’s a story of a neglected village which is cheated by the local police. The script is about the people’s protests in making the police see and act according to the reality. Kalathur Village on Tamil Nadu’s border with Andhra Pradesh is the film’s backdrop. We requested Ilaiyaraaja Sir to score the music to which he agreed on one condition that the script should be filmed in the same manner in which it was narrated to him.
“Maestro has shown great involvement and composed three songs in the film, one of which has been penned by Ilaiyaraaja himself,” Advaitan informs.
