Young and promising Karthik Naren, who debuted as director with the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru which released during the fag end of last year, has commenced his second directorial venture titled as Naragasooran which would actually be a trilingual as it would be simultaneously released in its Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu versions.
Arvind Swamy, Shriya Saran, ‘Maanagaram’ Sudeep and Mollywood’s Indrajith play prominent roles in the film which is produced by ace director Gautham Vasudev Menon. Naren hits that it would be a crime-thriller, similar in nature to that of Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru.
“I want to term Naragasooran as the second in my triology of films which commenced last year with Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru. Both the films are based on things such as ‘Karma’ and the (unshakable) belief we tend to have in many issues. Success of Dhuruvangal Padhinaaru proved that audiences had matured. Script of Naragasooran would be a challenging and tricky one and I’m sure audiences would love it,” he said.
“The first-look posers of the film have been released and we have commenced the shot of the film which we plan to release during Tamil New Year (April) next year. I want to continue my mode of film-making sans songs,” says Naren.
