It is rumuored strongly in Kollywood circles that national award-winning director Vetrimaaran might get to direct superstar Rajinikanth’s next venture.
Till his 2014 film Lingaa, Rajini had always been working with frontline directors and it had become a foregone conclusion that only a few leading directors would get the chance to direct him. However, last year’s colossal hit film Kabali changed everything as it was directed by Pa. Ranjith, who had only directed a couple of films before getting the chance of his life to work with supertar Rajinikanth in the super-duper hit film.
Going further, Rajnith is also directing Rajini in his upcoming film Kaala Karikaalan whose shoot is progressing briskly. Younger generation of directors have got a shot in the arm as they are now confident and hopeful of approaching Rajini with a suitable script, knowing very well that Rajini won’t say ‘no’ their offer if the script was compelling enough.
It turns out that Dhanush, Rajini’s son-in-law and who won the national award for ‘best actor’ for his performance in Vetrimaaran’s Aadukalam, facilitated a meeting between Rajini and Vetrimaaran in view of the close friendship he shares with the bearded director. It is also said that Rajini liked the script narrated to him by Vetrimaaran and that this may result in the form of Mudhalvan 2 very soon!
