An individual hailing from Tiruchi, who owns a Jallikkattu bull, has served notices on actor Vijay Sethupathi as well as the director and producer of his upcoming film Karuppan for showing Vijay Sethupathi taming the ‘untamed’ bull in the film’s promotional posters.
Kaathan of Lalgudi, Trichy District owns the bull Komban which has been made to ‘star’ in Vijay Sethupathi’s upcoming film Karuppan. The motion poster of the film, which was released recently, depicts Vijay Sethupathi taming the bull by arresting its movements.
Kaathan wasn’t amused by the poster as it showed (albeit in the film) a man taming his untamed bull. He has now served a legal notice on Vijay Sethupathi, director Panneerselvam and producer A.M. Rathnam stating that he can’t tolerate the insult heaped on his pet bull ‘Komban’ which hasn’t yet been tamed by anybody in real life.
Seeking unconditional apology from the trio, Kaathan has said that if no apology was forthcoming, he would be forced to seek judicial recourse. “I have been breeding Komban in memory of my late mother; the bull has plenty of fans and fan clubs. Nobody has so far managed to tame it and the film’s crew depicting as if it has been tamed (using computer-generated graphics) is totally unacceptable,” he said.
