Director M. Anbazhagan, who debuted in Kollywood as director with the Samuthirakani-starrer Saattai a few years back, is back in action with his second directorial venture titled as Rubaai (rupee) which is produced by director Prabhu Solomon on behalf of his ‘God Pictures’.
Kayal and Anandhi, who debuted in Prabhu Solomon’s romantic hit film Kayal a few years back, get united again in Rubaai which has Kishore Ravichandran, Chinni Kayanth, RNR Manohar, Harish Uthaman, Marimuthu and Vetrivel Raja in significant roles. Ilaiyaraja is the film’s cinematographer while D. Imman has scored the music. Yugabarathy has penned all the lyrics in the film.
Anbazhagan, who has also penned the film’s story, screenplay and dialogues, exuded confidence that the film would do well in theatres. “Everyone needs money but it would stay with us only if it is earned in an honest manner. Money earned through unscrupulous means would not only land us in trouble but would also not serve the purpose, which has been recorded in the film.
“When the film’s release was announced late last year, it was interrupted by the demonetization process set in motion by the Centre. The film is finally hitting the screens this Friday (14th July) and I’m sure people would support the film in the same manner in which they supported the demonetization exercise,” Anbazhagan concludes.
