Pretty-looking Mithuna is the latest actress of Sri Lankan origin to be trying her luck in Kollywood after Pooja.
Pooja Umashankar a.k.a. Pooja, who starred in films such as Naan Kadavul, Thambi, Ullam Ketkume and Jithan, charmed her fans and movie-goers with her smile and hour-glass figure. She hasn’t been starring in films of late as she is said to be getting ready to tie the nuptial knot.
Mithuna is making her debut as heroine in Kollywood with debutant director Gajan Shanmuganathan’s upcoming film titled as Oviyaa. “The script is about a child, which is born without many relatives or parents to take care of it, which turns into a ghost. Whether or not it teaches a fitting lesson to its parents (for abandoning it) forms the rest of the script,” says Shanmuganathan.
“We chose artistes based on their appearance and found Mithuna just the ideal choice for the heroine’s role. Gandeepan plays the hero while Lankan girl Suviksha Jayatatnam plays the child artiste. Vipin Chandran is the cinematographer while Padmajan scores the music. We have been shooting in the picturesque locales of Kerala,” informs the director.
