Kamal Haasan has left for Turkey along with his crew to shoot the remaining sequences of his upcoming film Vishwaroopam II.
Vishwaraoopam, as readers may recall, released amid huge pre-release controversy in 2013 and became one of the most significant hit films in Kamal Haasan’s career. Kamal even threatened that he’d shift out of the country if he faced such problems in future. Even when the film was shot, more than 50% the sequences of the sequel had been wrapped up.
Kamal launched his Sabaash Naidu during the middle of last year, shot in U.S. for more than a month but the film’s shoot hit a bottleneck after Kamal suffered a fracture in his leg and Shruti, the heroine, got busy with her other projects. The film has now taken a backseat as Kamal has showed renewed interest in releasing Vishwaroopam 2 before the end of this year.
Kamal left for Turkey to shoot the remaining sequence after which he would be shooting for ‘patch-work’ at an Army camp on the outskirts of our own Chennai. He plans to release the film under his banner ‘Rajkamal Films International’ and also possesses the release rights of the film’s Telugu and Hindi-dubbed versions.
Pooja Kumar, Andrea Jeremiah, Rahul Bose and Shekhar Kapoor have essayed prominent roles in the film which has been directed by Kamal Haasan himself. Ghibran scores the film’s music.
