Bollywood actress Kajol Devgn, one of the most spontaneous and intelligent actresses in contemporary cinema, has essayed a prominent role in national award-winning actor Dhanush’s upcoming film Velaiyilla Pattathari 2, a sequel to Dhanush-Amala Paul’s super-hit fim Velaiyilla Pattathari which released in 2015.
Kajol was spotted in Tamil films exactly two decades back in 1997 with Rajiv Menon’s Minsaara Kanavu in which she co-starred Aravind Swamy and Prabhu Deva. The Vennilave song from the film featuring Prabhu Deva and Kajol became a super-duper hit song. She makes a return to Tamil films 20 years later. Married and a mother of a teenager, Kajol still sports an hour-glass figure, revealing her urge to stay in shape.
Cinematographer Velraj directed the prequel while the sequel is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth, youngest daughter of superstar Rajinikanth. Kajol, who had finished the film’s shoot, had been to Maldives on vacation with her national award-winning actor-producer husband Ajay Devgn and daughter Naysa.
Commenting about the experience in starring in VIP 2, Kajol said that she has been ‘instructed’ by Soundarya not to talk or discuss about her role in the film. “It was really a wonderful experience for me to have taken up the film’s offer; I can only say this at the present juncture,” says Kajol.
