An individual named Rajashekar has filed a complaint with the Commissioner of Police, Chennai claiming that Kaala, the title of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, actually belonged to him as he had registered the title way back in 1996.
Shoot of Rajini’s 164th film Kaala Karikaalan got underway in Mumbai in real-life locations last Sunday (28th May). Ranjith, who made last year’s colossal hit film Kabaali, is teaming up with the ‘man of the masses’ for the second time in two years to make Kaala which is produced by Rajini’s son-in-law and national award-winning actor Dhanush under his banner ‘Wunderbar Films’.
After the film’s first-look posters and title were released last Thursday, Rajini’s millions of fans worldwide didn’t waste any moment in sharing, downloading and posting them on social networking sites.
The film, which is to be made in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu simultaneously, has triggered huge expectations with a huge cast of Rajini, Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Eswari Rao, Samuthirakani, Sampath, Ravi Kale and Sayaji Shinde. Santhosh Narayanan is the film’s music director.
Rajashekar has said in his complaint with the COP, Chennai that he had registered the title of ‘Kaala’ way back in 1996 with the South Indian Film Chamber. Now that the film’s shoot has commenced, the complaint is said to have made the crew tense.
