Mumbai-based Drishyam Films has announced that it’s launching a $20 million production fund to facilitate the growth of independent Indian cinema.
The fund is not restricted to any language and it will be open to all including Tamil independent filmmakers who are willing to make a mark.
“It will be put to use for producing 10 independent Indian films over the next two years. The last three years at Drishyam have been phenomenal in the terms of where we started and how far we’ve come. This fund has been set up with the objective of taking Indian cinema to the next level internationally,” says Manish Mundra of Drishyam Films in a statement.
Manish Mundra was awarded as one of Variety’s Top Ten Producers to Watch in 2017 at the recently-concluded 70th Cannes International Film Festival.
