Actress Anjali Patil is the latest addition to the cast of superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kaala Karikaalan, which goes to the floors tomorrow in Mumbai.
As already reported, the first-look posters and title of Rajini’s second and back-to-back film with director Pa. Ranjith were released two days back. Rajini’s ever-hungry fans lapped up the pictures and the title, sharing the picture across social networking sites and preparing stickers of the film’s title logo within a single night and pasting them on their vehicles proudly, as witnessed yesterday in Chennai and elsewhere.
Anjali, who turns 30 this September, has starred in Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam and Sinhala language films in her career which started six years back. The Nashik-born actress won ‘special appreciation’ during the national awards for her role in the 2013 Telugu film Naa Bangaaru Talli.
Bollywood’s Huma Qureshi has already been roped in to play the lead role opposite Rajini and Anjali thus becomes the second actress from across the Vindhyas to star in the film alongside the superstar. Anjali has tweeted on her Twitter account, confirming her role in Rajini’s Kaala by saying “Next film for this year with the ONE AND ONLY Thalaivaa!”
Rajini reportedly plays the role of a Tirunelveli Tamil who moves and settles in Mumbai at a young age. Both Huma and Anjali have powerful roles in the film, it is understood.
