In his bold speech at his fans meet, Rajinikanth has talked about allegations that he always lures his fans by talking about his political entry.
“Another accusation on me is that I always lure my fans by talking about my political entry. Due to some circumstances, I happened to offer my support to a political coalition twenty-one years back. My beloved Tamil people ensured a victory for the coalition that I supported.
In 1996, few of my fans too started actively involved in politics. Both political leaders and a ‘few’ of my fans mutually benefited from each other. And my name has been dragged into politics for the past two decades. I have been pushed to clarify during every election that I’m not affiliated with any political party. I’m neither an influential political leader nor a social activist,” he said.
“Some of my fans even give interviews to various publications. Few of them desire to be councilors, MLAs, and Ministers. Being ambitious is not wrong. But, I don’t know how to react if their intentions are to swindle money from politics,” he added.
