Comedienne Madhumitha has said that she finds it ‘very comfortable’ to work along with comedian Soori. “Now that Santhanam appears to have ‘forgotten me’, I get along well with Soori in films,” she adds.
Better known to Kollywood fans as Jangiri Madhumitha, she debuted in Tamil films as comedienne in director M. Rajesh’s 2012 super-hit film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi for which she won the ‘Vikatan’ awards for best comedienne. “I won laurels in my debut film Oru Kal Oru Kannadi in which I was paired up opposite Santhanam; he has become a full-fledged hero now and is not in touch with me anymore.
“Santhanam appears to have forgotten me after he turned hero as I don’t even have his mobile number. However, Soori has been of great help to me and I starred with him in films such as Vellaikkara Durai and Jilla and in the soon-to-be-released Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen.
“Unlike other comedians, Soori doesn’t want to hog the limelight in every sequence in a film and wants others too to have important dialogues and good sequences,” says Madhumitha, taking a dig at Santhanam. “I’m very comfortable when starring alongside Soori and hope our combo goes on for a few years,” she concludes.
