S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2 has created a new box-office record for a film in India by collecting a whopping um of Rs.1000 crores at the global box-office in just ten days’ time!
Starring Prabhas, Tamannaah, Anushka, Rana Daggubati and Ramya Krishnan in the lead, Baahubali 2 released in more than 6,500 theatres the world over on 28th April and completed its 10-day run only yesterday.
Its Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions, which released simultaneously, have so far collected more than Rs.1,000 crores at the global box-office, thus creating a new Indian record.
Industry watchers feel that the record is to stay for many more years to come in future as the next best record after Baahubali is more than Rs.200 crore short. Aamir Khan’s last year’s super-hit film Dangal, which collected Rs.782 crores at the box-office, is placed second on the list followed by many films including Rajini’s Kabali.
Thus Baahubali 2 has lived up to its pre-release billing, thus gladdening the hearts of its lead cast, film-maker Rajamouli and the fans of all the stars in the film. Let’s take a bow and congratulate the entire crew and technicians!
