Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar, who played Dhanush’s friend in his debut Hindi film Raanjhanaa (2013), has said that she faced huge (sexual) harassment from fans during the promotion of her 2015 film Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which had Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in the lead.
Swara, who played Salman’s sister in the film, was speaking to newspersons recently when she shared the terrible experience. “We had been to Rajkot to promote Prem Ratan… and when I landed up at the Airpor with Sallu Bhai, a huge crowd had already collected. Taking advantage of the crowd, some persons touched me at the most embarrassing places in my body, thus making me feel irritated and agitated.
“It was Anupam Kher Sir who saved the day for me as he led me safely to a car and sent me away. While shooting the ‘Holi’ sequence in Raanjhanaa, we had adequate security,” she revealed. “Once a person pinched my bottom at a Delhi Book Fair and I immediately slapped him hard across his cheeks, taking others by surprise,” Swara says with a smile.
“When I was travelling to Mumbai last year, a person who appeared to be a drug-addict started masturbating right in front of others and paying no attention to them. I scolded him and hit him with an umbrella which I had in my hands. When the train arrived at the next Station, I caught hold of his shirt’s collar to hand him over to the police but he somehow escaped,” Swara concluded.
