Akshay Kumar’s Padman, which went on floors in the first week of March, is currently progressing at a brisk pace in a picturesque village in Madhya Pradesh. The team has already completed 75% of the shoot and is edging towards completion.
“Padman is very challenging because Arunachalam Muruganandham, on whom the story is based on, has made the whole process of making low-cost sanitary napkins very simple. So, wee had to romanticize the whole movie in such a manner that it looks cinematic. It’s a touchy topic for Indian cinema,” informs a source close to the unit.
“Even if it’s a small table, we have focussed on details and designed it beautifully to make it eye-pleasing. I assure that Padman is going to be an eye-catching movie. PC Sreeram has come up with his best shot compositions,” the source adds.
Directed by R. Balki, Padman stars Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte as leads. Amit Trivedi composes music for the project, which is produced by Twinkle Khanna. Amitabh Bachchan, a Balki regular, recently shot for a brief cameo in New Delhi. Ace cinematographer PC Sreeram cranks the camera for the project.
