Superstar Rajinikanth, who watched his son-in-law and national award-winning actor Dhanush’s maiden directorial venture Pa Pandi at an exclusive screening yesterday in the city, has lauded Dhanush but advised him to take a break from directing films.
Dhanush, who has revealed his various facets of an actor, a playback singer, a lyricist and a producer, is foraying into untreaded territory as his maiden directorial venture Pa Pandi (produced by himself) is all set to release in theatres this Friday (on Tamil New Year Day).
Dhanush has cast Rajkiran, who incidentally played the hero in his father Kastoori Raja’s debut directorial venture many years back, in the lead role.
After watching the exclusive screening, Rajini was highly impressed by his son-in-law’s film-making instincts. The film reportedly ‘conveys a message’ to elders not to relax assuming that they would be taken care of by their children or relatives in their old age and to work hard to save for their future expenses.
“It’s a good film and would be spoken about/discussed at least for the next 10 years,” were Rajini’s comments soon after watching the film. Rajini, however, had a word of advice for his son-in-law when he told him to take a break from direction after making such an effective film and to start concentrating in other facets of film-making.
