It has been reported that director Pa. Ranjith would be making a grand announcement on 14th April (Tamil New Year day) about his new directorial venture which would have superstar Rajinikanth in the lead.
Ranjith directed Rajini in last year’s colossal hit film Kabali in only his third film as a film-maker after Attakathi and Madras. Rajini trusted Ranjith’s film-making abilities and the result was there for everyone to see and enjoy. Rajini has, in the meantime, reached the concluding stages of shoot of his upcoming Shankar-directed 2.0, sequel to his 2010 super-duper hit film Enthiran: The Robot.
Late last year, Ranjith announced that he would be directing Rajini again. Both Rajini and Ranjith made it clear that the proposed film won’t be a sequel to Kabali but would be made on a fresh script. It is now reported that Ranjith had completed the scripting process and won Rajini’s approval of the script and screenplay.
A formal announcement about the film is likely to be expected on 14th April when Tamils all over the world would be observing ‘Tamil New Year’ day. Rajini’s son-in-law and national award-winning actor Dhanush would be producing the film under his banner ‘Wunderbar Films’. Deepika Padukone or Vidya Balan would be paired up opposite Rajini as his heroine in the film.
