The ‘first-look’ poster of actress Sridevi’s upcoming film Mom was revealed yesterday by her daughters Jhanvi and Khushi.
Sridevi, who ruled Tamil films for in the late seventies and till the early eighties, moved to Bollywood where she had a dream run as a top heroine for 15 long years, during when she was rivaled only by the inimitable Madhuri Dixit.
The 50-plus actress, who still remains the ‘dream-girl’ of many men in their forties, fifties, sixties and beyond, is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming trilingual film titled as Mom.
Sridevi married Boney Kapoor, elder brother of Anil Kapoor with whom she had starred in several films, and settled in matrimony before making a comeback with English Vinglish five years back in 2012. Her performance in the film was lauded by critics and also helped the film achieve success commercially. She later made an unforgettable appearance in Vijay’s non-starter Puli.
Made simultaneously by Boney Kapoor in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, Mom is directed by debutant film-maker Ravi Udyawar. It also stars Akahaye Khanna, Abhimanyu Singh, Vikas Verma and Raj Zutshi in the lead. It is slated to hit the screens nation-wide on 14th July. A.R. Rahman scores the music of the film whose first look poster was released by Jhanvi and Khushi yesterday.
Zee Studios has taken up the worldwide release and distribution of the film.
