The trailer of Tollywood film-maker S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2, which was ‘leaked’ on the internet yesterday, has been watched by more than 50 lakh netizens in just five hours, beating the viewing/downloading record held thus far by Rajini’s Kabali.
The trailer of the Tamil version of the sequel to the 2015 super-duper hit film Baahubali was actually released/leaked by a few over-eager netizens even before the film’s crew formally released it; however, as a trouble-shooting exercise, within a few minutes of the leak of the trailer of the Tamil version, the crew went ahead and formally released trailers of the Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions.
Within five hours, combined strength of viewership of the trailers of the three versions touched a whopping 50 lakhs, with the figure going up with each passing hour. Superstar Rajinikanth’s last year’s colossal hit film Kabali held the most viewership record on the net for a trailer as it recorded 50 lakh in 22 hours in Tamil version alone.
Baahubali 2 has now beaten this record as the trailers of its Tamil, Telugu and Hindi version have been watched by the same number in just five hours!
