It is reported that national award-winning actor Dhanush’s family is not so happy with the way the case (filed by a Thirubhuvanam couple claiming Dhanush was actually their son) has gone thus far.
It is reported that the couple’s claim has started getting ‘stronger’ thanks to quite a few confusions in certificates filed by Dhanush. Dhanush, who was Venkatesh Prabhu before entering films, is owned by the couple Kathiresan and Meenatchi who say that he deserted them while in School and studying Class XI. “We named him as Kalaichelvan,” the couple say and have told the Court that they are ready for DNA test.
The couple has also submitted certificates with the Madurai Bench of the Chennai High Court which asked Dhanush to make a personal appearance a few days back when his birthmarks were checked. Dhanush’s father Kastoori Raja too attended the proceedings and said that he had named Dhanush as ‘Venkatesh Prabhu’ but changed his name when his son debuted as an actor in films.
Kastoori Raja’s counsel says that he was confident of success in the case. However, it is said that certificates filed by Dhanush showed him as ‘SC’ whereas Kastooro Raja and Kathiresan, who own Dhanush, belong to ‘backward caste’ (BC) community. If it is proved that the certificates were wrong, Dhanush’s parents might face severe legal action.
Kastoori Raja is said to have changed his name from Krishnamoorthy formally only in 2015 by getting a Gazette notification but it appears that he had given his name as ‘Kastoori Raja’ when he changed Dhanush’s name in 2003 which is untenable under the law as he had officially changed his name only in 2015. These confusions and the changing scenario have made things tough for Dhanush and his family, it is reported.
