Kastoori Raja, producer-director and father of national award-winning actor Dhanush and film-maker Selvaraghavan has asserted that the family, though tense, is not unduly worried about the case involving their son as they were certain that justice would prevail finally and that it would be proved that Dhanush is their son.
Thirupuvanam couple Kathireasn and Meenatchi moved the Melur District Sessions Court stating that Dhanush was their son who had abandoned them while he was in Class XI. Dhanush filed a petition with the Madurai Bench of the Chennai High Court requesting that the couple’s case be dismissed forthwith. He appeared in person at the Court last week when his birthmarks were checked.
“We know that Dhanush is our son and aren’t unduly worried about the case but are tense for sure,” says Kastoori Raja. “We have decided to relax ourselves and face the legal proceedings in a calm manner,” he adds.
“I started off in films in 1991 and my family is known to many celebrities in the industry. As such, we don’t need to explain to everyone that Dhanush is our son,” he says. “We feel awkward to assert time and again that he is our son. We have filed all the relevant documents with the Court,” he said and didn’t respond when a scribe was asked if Dhanush was ready to undergo DNA test in this regard.
