Five days after the release in theatres of the Gautham Karthik-Priya Anand starrer Muthuramalingam, the Chennai High Court has stayed the screening of the film from today (01st March).
The Court’s order followed a petition filed with it by M.V. Prakash who accused the producer of not returning loan taken by him and demanded stoppage of screening the film till his loan was repaid. Produced by D. Vijayprakash on behalf of his ‘Global Media Works’, the film has been directed by Rajadurai who has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogues. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s music is the film’s high-point.
Besides thelead pair Napoleon, Suman, Chinni Jayanth, Vivek, Singampuli, Singamuthu, FEFSI Vijayan and Vamsi Krishna have essayed prominent roles in the film. Late film-maker Panchu Arunachalam has penned the film’s lyrics and Kamal Haasan has sung a song in the film which hit the screens last Friday (24th Feb.).
Taking up Prakash’s complaint against Vijayprakash for not paying up the loan of Rs.29 lakhs in time, the Chennai High Court has stayed the screening of the film five days after its release, thus confusing movie-goers and audiences.
