Veteran actor-producer-director Thiagrajan has expressed his happness that his latest film as an actor in the form of Vijay Antony-Miya George starrer Yaman has become a successful venture.
Released last Friday, the political thriller is said to be doing well in theatres. Thiagarajan, who first debuted as an antagonist in Bharathiraaja’s Alaigal Oyvathillai but went on to star in many films as hero and later took to directing/producing films, has essayed a prominent role in the film after a long time as an actor.
Critics have raved about Thiagarajan’s looks in the film and his breezy yet effective portrayal of his character. Expressing happiness at the film’s success, the ever-bearded Thiagarajan said “Times change but the mode of film-making hardly changes. Scripts play the pivotal role in determining films’ success. I recently took a decision to ‘re-enter’ films as an actor and am being very choosy about my roles.
“Some scripts strike you instantaneously and you feel you ought to be part of them; Yaman has such a powerful script and I’m getting appreciation from friends, critics and well-wishers for my politician’s role in the film,” says Thiagarajan.
On the not-so-successful career of his son and actor Prashanth, Thiagarajan said Prashanth was highly talented and dedicated. “His re-entry in Kollywood would be very special as we are re-making Bollywood hit film Special 26 in Tamil,” he informs.
