Sivakarthikeyan borrows Rajini’s title of Velaikkaran for new film?

It has been reported that Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film has been titled as Velaikkaran after the super-duper Rajini hit film which released in the late eighties.

Velaikkaran was incidentally superstar Rajinikanth’s last film with his old hairstyle and Manithan, which released soon after Velaikkaran, showed him in his now-famous hairstyle where he departed from side-parting of his hair. Both the films were super-duper hits; while Udhayanidhi had the title of Manithan borrowed some time back, it is now Sivakarthikeyan’s turn after Dhanush and Vishal to borrow a Rajini film’s title.

Sivakarthikeyan, who made the grade as K-Town hero from small screen where he dazzled in hosting and taking part in reality comedy shows, has become one of the most bankable heroes in the industry. He has delivered back-to-back super-duper hit films in the form of Rajini Murugan and Remo and his upcoming film, directed by ‘Jayam’ Rja, has him romancing ‘queen bee’ Nayantara for the first time on-screen.

With Anirudh’s music to back up, the film has now been titled as Velaikkaran which has obviously irked millions of fans of superstar Rajinikanth who may finally ‘allow’ Sivakarthikeyan to have it as the title of his next film as the latter had gone on record many a time about how he loves and adores Rajini.
