Ritika’s attitude impresses film-makers

Ritika Singh, the professional boxer-turned-actress who impressed youths and movie-goers with her mind-boggling performance in last year’s Irudhi Suttru, has also been winning appreciation from film-makers because of her attitude.

The actress, who essayed her real-life role of a boxer in Irudhi Suttru with aplomb, also hinted that she had enough ammunition in her to shine as an actress beyond her ‘punching’ skills. The film was released simultaneously in Hindi as Saala Khadoos and is now being remade in Telugu as Guru with Venkatesh playing Madhavan’s much-appreciated role in the Telugu version.

Ritika had another release in Aandavan Kattalai (opposite Vijay Sethupathi) last year and is now playing Raghava Lawrence’s heroine in Shivalinga. She has also been cast as heroine opposite Arvind Swamy, who is more than double Ritika’s age, in his upcoming venture titled as Vanangamudi.

Ritika doesn’t throw starry tantrums and comes across as a very cooperative heroine on the sets. Recently, when a film-maker told her that he wanted to narrate a script to her, she flew in all the way from Mumbai along with her mother just to hear the script and didn’t ask the film-maker to come to Mumbai to meet her!
