Suriya has said that neither he nor Hari was in a mood to relax now that his much-delayed and much-awaited Si3 is finally hitting the screens next Thursday (09th February).
Starring Suriya, Shruti Haasan and Anushka Shetty in the lead, S3 is the third film in the Singam series of films involving Hari and Suriya, who had also worked in films such as Aaru and Vel, thus making them one of the very few director-hero combos in Kollywood to have worked together in five or more films.
Despite the hard-work they have put in making the third film in the sequel, they aren’t relaxing but are tense.
“Nobody can claim he/she is not tense on the eve of release of their films. I never took success for granted right from the day when I debuted in Tamil films with Nerukku Ner more than two decades back,” says Suriya and adds that his family had already watched the film and appreciated his performance as cop Duraisingam.
“My mother, in particular, praised the film’s extra-ordinary script,” Suriya says with pride.
“Though I have done many films in the past two decades, I’m always ‘referred’ to as cop Duraisingam down South (of Tamil Nadu); such is the impact of the character with the masses and fans. I’m sure fans and movie-goers would patronize us in a huge manner this time too but we aren’t taking things for granted and we only earnestly hope our hard-work and sincerity are rewarded adequately,” concludes Suriya.
It may be noted that the pre-release business of Suriya’s Si3 had already crossed Rs.100 crores, as claimed by producer Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green.
