Actress Ritika Singh, who debuted as heroine in Tamil films early last year with the super-duper hit film Irudhi Suttru, is said to be learning Tamil fast to as to ensure that she has a longer tenure in Kollywood!
The professional boxer-turned-actress, who is just 22 years of age, gave a very good account of her boxing skills and acting prowess in portraying the character of a girl who takes reluctantly to boxing and goes on to dazzle in it. She had another release last year in Aandavan Kattalai in which she was paired up opposite Vijay Sethupthi.
She plays Raghava Lawrence’s heroine in the upcoming mega film Shivalinga, Tamil remake of the popular Kannada film of the same title. She also reprises her role in the Telugu version of Irudhi Suttru where Venkatesh has essayed Madhavan’s famed role of a boxing coach who goes against a corrupt system in creating a champion boxer.
Tamannaah, who has been around in Kollywood for a decade now, has started speaking in fluent Tamil in her last few films including Dharma Durai, Devi and Kaththi Sandai. Kajal Aggarwal, who has also been around for a long time now, doesn’t appear to be in any mood to star dubbing in her own voice in Tamil films.
Trisha and Sneha had almost concluded their entire careers without bothering to speak in their own voices and surviving mostly on dubbed voices. In this backdrop, Ritika’s effort in brushing up her Tamil knowledge/accent sure deserves praise of the highest order!
