In recent times, creativity and unique concepts are raising more and more in Tamil Film industry because of the growing knowledge of audiences in world cinema. The upcoming film ‘Tubelight’ directed by debutant Indra and produced by Ravi Narayanan under the banner ‘Ostrich Media Production’ will be one of the good examples, when it comes to creative content.
Starring new faces Indra and Adithi, the film ‘Tubelight’ has actor Pandiyarajan in a significant role and ‘Dummy Tappaasu’ fame Praveen Prem in a crucial role. Combined with biological and philosophical elements, the film ‘Tubelight’ is well built with a bunch of talented technicians that includes Music Director Indra, Cinematographer Sreedhar (Associate of DOP Ramji), Editor CS Prem (Kuttram Kadidhal), Art Director UJ Murugan (Maalai Nearathu Mayakkam), choreographer Sri Krish (Associate of Dance Master Dinesh), Stunt choreographer Win Veera (Urumeen) and costume designer Chinnasamy (Mariyaan).
“Since our Ostrich Media Production is stepping into production industry for the very first time, we wanted the script to be totally unique.
This is a non-linear script and hence it was challenging for our entire team to shoot the film, but Tubelight glows bright more than what we have expected,” says producer Ravi Narayanan of ‘Ostrich Media Production’.
“It will take at least 3 to 5 seconds for a ‘Tubelight’ to glow, and our Hero has the same character too. His hearing sense will be delayed by five seconds, i.e, whatever we say, he can hear it only after five seconds. This is the one line story of our ‘Tubelight’ film. Pandiyarajan sir who plays a crucial role in our film will be portrayed in a never before seen avatar.
We have implemented slapstick comedy in our film, since I am a great admirer of legendary slapstick comedians Charlie Chaplin and Mr. Bean. But in recent times this particular variety of comedy is slowly vanishing from Tamil film industry. I am pretty sure that our ‘Tubelight’ will resurrect that Slapstick humour,” says Indra, the director cum hero of ‘Tubelight’ confidently.
