It is reported that actress Lakshmi Menon, who has been finding it very tough to reduce her increasing flab around her waist which gives her an elderly look beyond her age, has been ousted from Vijay Sethupthi’s upcoming film Karuppan.
The lanky Menon paired up opposite Vijay Sethupathi in last year’s Rekka which was billed as Vijay Sethupathi’s first full-fledged ‘action film’. Directed by Rathina Siva, the film was a moderate success. Lakshmi’s looks in the film, however, were criticized by netizens who took to social networking sites in a huge manner in taunting her.
Lakshmi’s efforts in shedding the flab around her waist and hips didn’t yield the desired results. She was earlier signed up to pair up opposite Vijay Sethupathi for the second time in Renigunta fame director R. Panneerselvam’s upcoming film titled as Karuppan, However, it now appears that she has been ‘removed’ from the film’s cast.
Produced by A.M. Ratnam, Karuppan has music by D. Imman and is cinematographed by Ramji. Lakshmi Menon was counting on this offer to regain her ‘lost place’ in Tamil films. However, it turns out that Panneerselvam wasn’t impressed by Lakshmi’s looks which he felt would only go against her on-screen character in the film. It is said that newcomer Tanya has been signed up opposite Vijay Sethupathi.
In the meantime, it is said that Lakshmi Menon suffered a freak injury in an accident in her native Kerala and is said to have been advised to take complete rest for a month. Realizing that she won’t be part of the project with Vijay Sethupathi, she reportedly made it clear to the crew that she would be out-of-action for at least a month or so.
