Responding the huge and strong Jallikkattu sentiment which is sweeping the entire State, actor Suriya has cancelled the planned promotional activities in Madurai and Tirunelveli in connection with the release of his upcoming film S3 in theatres next Thursday on Republic Day (26th January).
Tamil Nadu has been going through huge and unseen protests by youths and students who have taken part in lakhs in protests demanding revocation of existing ban on Jallikkattu as cities and towns are witnessing mass and silent, non-violent protests by the youths. The whole of the country has been watching in amazement the protests indulged in by the State’s younger generation.
After Suriya issued a statement in favour of Jallikkattu, PETA India made an irrelevant comment stating that Suriya lent his support to Jallikkattu mainly to be in the news and to seek publicity on the eve of release in theaters of his upcoming film S3.
Suriya hasn’t responded to PETA’s comments but has postponed the promotional events he had planned to hold in Madurai and Tirunelveli to promote S3, the third film on the Singam sequel involving him and director Hari.
