Simbu, who held a silent protest in Chennaiwith thousands of Jallikkattu supporters a few days back, has come to the rescue of beleaguered Trisha by saying that Trisha wouldn’t have anticipated that PETA would oppose Jallikkattu tooth-and-nail.
Simbu, who has always maintained that he would give and do anything for his friends, has come to the rescue of his ‘close friend’ Trisha at just the appropriate time as Trisha has become the target of attack of netizens who have been taking her to task for being part of PETA whose case with the Supreme Court has successfully blocked holding of Tamil traditional sport of Jallikkattu in the State for three years now.
The perfect on-screen pair of Simbu and Trisha, who mesmerized the audiences in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya a few years back, have been close friends as well and were spotted celebrating together at many events in the past.
Commenting on the issue, Simbu has said that “Trisha had provided shelter to many stray dogs at her house. Nobody bothered to appreciate her for her good deeds. They have no business in commenting against Trisha without understanding the issue. Trisha no doubt supported PETA’s ventures in the past but wouldn’t have anticipated that they would oppose Jallikkattu!
“Had she known in advance that PETA would oppose Jallikkattu, she would have quit it long back,” Simbu said.
