Producer-director-actor Ameer’s next directorial venture, titled as Santhana Devan, brings together Arya and his younger brother and actor Sathya together on-screen for the first time.
The film was launched at Prasad Labs in Saligramam in Chennai yesterday. Keeping in view the Pongal mood prevailing in the State, the ‘set’ resembled a Jallikkattu arena. Even the posters had the heroes grappling with an untamed bull. Needless to say that the script deals with the traditional vaour-filled sport of Jallikkattu!
Speaking at the film’s launch, Ameer said “I have consciously decided to make only those films who speak about Tamil culture and pride; I won’t indulge in making another Aadhi Bagawan in future. I made Paruthiveeran and Raam because of the impact I have had by watching many things practically and by the proximity I had with people of various natures.
“I have also decided not to star in films in future. I was to star in another script but was shown a Korean teleserial which was later made as Yogi though I starred in it only reluctantly. Aadhi Bagawan was my answer to critics who wondered if I’d be able to make action-packed films. I’m now very clear as to what sort of films I’d be making in the days to come,” concluded the ever-bearded Ameer.
