A case has been filed with the Chennai High Court against the theatrical release tomorrow (12th January) of Vijay’s Bairavaa alleging that theatres are charging more than the prescribed ticket cost.
Directed by Bharathan and starring Vijay Keerthy Suresh, Jagapati Babu and Sathish in lead roles, Bairavaa is to release tomorrow in theatres two days ahead of Pongal to cash in on the weekend holidays. Santhosh Narayanan has scored the music of the film which has been cinematographed by Sukumar.
Produced by Vijaya Productions, the film’s release has been challenged in Court as a case has been filed with the Chennai High Court stating that theatres are charging ‘extra’ and exorbitant cost for tickets. The Court has directed the producer, Govt. of Tamil Nadu and theatre-owners screening the film to file their replies by today.
It has also directed that proof be submitted on allegations of over-charging by theatres. The case and the direction of the Court has put a cloud over the proposed theatrical release of Bairavaa.
