Theatrical release of Suriya’s upcoming film S3 on Republic Day on 26th January has sure caused postponement of release in theatres of a few other films as well, with cinematographer-director Vijay Milton’s Kadugu being prominent among them.
Directed by Hari and starring Suriya, Anushka and Shruti Haasan in the lead, S3 is the third film on the Singam franchise having Suriya as the ‘cop’ Duraisingam. The film’s release was postponed twice in succession in recent past for reasons which weren’t revealed by the makers and has finally been slated to release on R-Day next month.
Vijay Milton’s Bharath-starrer Kadugu, which was to release earlier on 26th January, would now be releasing at a later date. Speaking about the delay, Milton says “My film Goli Soda released on 26th January and turned out to be a successful venture. Going by that sentiment, I wanted to release Kadugu on the same day; however, I have decided to postpone its release in view of release of Suriya’s S3.
“I shall now consult with my producer and distributors and within the next 10 days, I would announce a fresh date to release the film,” Milton said. It may be recalled that Vijay Milton’s last film as director was the Vikram-Samantha starrer 10 Endrathukulla which released a few months back and did only average business at the box-office.
