Producer-director-actor Sasikumar has assured that veteran comedienne Kovai Sarala has rocked in her character of ‘Selfie Kaathayee’ in his upcoming film Balle Vellaiya Thevaa which is all set to release in theatres next Friday (23rd December).
After back-to-back hit films in Vetrivel and Kidaari, it would be Sasikumar’s third release of the year. Tanya, a stunning-looking debutant actress (grand-daguther of veteran actor Ravichandran), makes he debut as heroine in Tamil films by pairing up opposite Sasikumar. Debutant director Solai Prakash has penned the story, dialogues and screenplay of Balle Vellaiya Thevaa besides helming it.
“Kovai Sarala Ma’am is paired up opposite Sangili Murugan in the film which is about the importance of relationships in a family. Rohini has essayed my mother’s role in the film which is a full-length comedy. I’m told tha the first-look posters of the film remind them of late ‘Aachi’ Manorama’s Patti Sollai Thattadhay. Kovai Sarala doesn’t play my grand-mother in the film but has done her role admirably well.
“It was a role which would have been ideal for ‘Aachi’ Manorama and we cast Kovai Sarala in this role. She has also sung a ‘rap’ song in the film. As I expected, her role has come out very well and in fact, would be lauded by critics and audiences as it’s prominence is more than that of my character in the film,” concludes Sasikumar.
