Actress Shruti Haasan has conceded that she felt ‘scared’ to star in her father and actor Kamal Haasan’s direction in her upcoming film Sabaash Naidu.
A frontline actress in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, Shruti Haasan would be spotted on screen along with her illustrious father in Sabaash Naidu which is directed by Kamal Haasan who took over the responsibility of direction after the director took ill in the initial stages of the film’s first shooting schedule in U.S.
Shruti’s S3 opposite Suriya (against whom she debuted as heroine in Kollywood with 7aum Arivu a few years back) is likely to release ahead of Sabaash Naidu as the film’s shooting schedule was cut short by a freak leg injury suffered by Kamal Haasan at his Chennai residence a few months back.
Presently in Lucknow in connection with the shoot of her upcoming Hindi film Behan Hogi Their, Shruti told newsmen that it was indeed a memorable experience to get to work with her father in the same film. “It was also a scary experience as I felt stressed because he had taken up the responsibilities of producing, directing and playing the lead role (besides directing me),” she laughs.
“Appa lauded my acting which I feel is a great honour bestowed on me; he doesn’t mince words when a particular sequence doesn’t turn out the way he wanted it. As such, getting kudos from him meant a lot to me,” she said.
